Pusher Sequence

The more difficult southern route to Vancouver chosen by CPR had a westbound ruling grade in the Selkirk Mountains with slopes exceeding 2%. With CPR's long trains, the grades required extra power to make the hill. The photos below outline how Pusher Service operated.
