Durango & Silverton Railroad

The Durango & Silverton Railroad is one of two remaining segments of the old Denver &Rio Grande narrow guage system that operated in Colorado and New Mexico. The line is 44 miles long and rises2,750 feet as it climbs from Durango to Silverton following the Animas River much of the way. This line and the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad offer regular excursions in the summer and treat their passengers to beautiful scenery and a memorable steam train experience.
