Ferrocarriles Ecuatorianos

The Railroad of Ecuador climbs from just above sea level in Guayaquil to 12,000 feet at Urbina Summit in the Andes Mountains and back to about 10,000' in Quito, the capital. Steep grades, Nariz del Diablo, Avenue of Volcanos and a lot of mechanical uncertainty make it an interesting line.
