| Scenic-Rairoads.com represents over 25 years of railfan photography always trying to catch the most appealing views and perspectives. Until 2004, I used Nikon 35mm equipment and usually Kodachrome 64 film. All digital darkroom work is done at home on a computer designed and built by my son. Image processing utilized Photoshop, Nikon SC4000ED slide scanner and Monaco EZ color magement. Since 2004, I became all digital using both Canon and Nikon digital SLR equipment. This version of my site features a Media Gallery for "mini videos" and prototype sound clips for your enjoyment. Much of my work is on display in the "Theatre" at the Revelstoke Railroad Museum in British Columbia. All work is copyright. High resolution files available for commercial use. William Ghoat Photography, where did that come from? Since you asked, WGP evolved from my quest to get unique views of mainline action on the Mountain Sub of the Canadian Pacific Railroad. The spectacular terrain leads one to see what the view is like from different spots in a given area and this requires "taking a hike". In such pursuits, my buds called out, "he climbs like a "Billy Goat" and the name was stuck upon me. Feeling this name did not connote true skill and greatness, I changed it to the more formal, William Ghoat. Photographs are great but can you imagine a beautiful custom painting? Pull down that portrait of your wife's grandfather over the fireplace mantel and hang up a stunning railroad scene. Jan is a talented artist who has made custom paintings and murals in the USA including the Galveston Railroad Museum as well as Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. You can supply a photo or use one from this web site if you wish. I had one of my favorite Yoho winter shots painted for me and it is terrific. Contact Jan at Painting Adventures.com. |
